1.CCEA approves fınancial support for non-communicable diseases e-Health

*The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the continuation of the implementation of the Tertiary healthcare programmes for non-communicable diseases and E-Health upto 2020 with an outlay of Rs 2551.15 crore.

*The cabinet has approved the continuation of the implementation of the following Tertiary healthcare programmes:
a) Strengthening of Tertiary Care Cancer facilities Scheme
b) National Program for Health Care of the Elderly
c) National Program for Prevention & Management of Trauma and Burn Injuries
d) National Program for Tobacco Control and Drug Addiction Treatment
e) National Mental Health Program
f) National Program for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment
g) Program for Strengthening of e-Health and Telemedicine Services

2.Union Cabinet approves National Policy on Software Products 2019

*The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 1, 2019 approved the National Policy on Software Products 2019 to develop India as a Software Product Nation.
*The software product ecosystem is characterised by innovations, Intellectual Property (IP) creation and large value addition increase in productivity, which has the potential to significantly boost revenues and exports in the sector, create substantive employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in emerging technologies and leverage opportunities available under the digital India programme, thus, leading to a boost in inclusive and sustainable growth.

3.Union Cabinet approves National Mineral Policy 2019
*The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 28, 2019 approved National Mineral Policy 2019. 
*The New National Mineral Policy will ensure more effective regulation and will lead to sustainable mining sector development in future while addressing the issues of project affected persons especially those residing in tribal areas.

4.DCB Bank launches Open Banking Next-Gen Banking Solutions

*Development Credit Bank announced the launch of its Open Banking Platform. Over 20 startups, fintech, merchants, enterprises and developers will partner with DCB for access to its Open Banking Platform APls.


5.Cabinet clears J&K Reservation (Amendment) Ordinance 2019
*Cabinet approved the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2019. It'll benefit SCs & STs in promotion in service and extend reservation of up to 10% to Economically Weaker Sections in education and public employment.

6.Indian Railways cancelled the Samjhauta Express
*Due to low passenger occupancy, Indian Railways has cancelled the bi-weekly Samjhauta Express till further notification. Railways said that since the train is not coming from Pakistan, therefore, India cancelled the Delhi-Attari service

7.HCIL to enable internet across Domestic Flights & Ships
*The government has granted the license to provide internet across domestic flights and ships in India to Hughes Communications India Limited (HCIL). Flight internet connectivity is expected to be available from April-May 2019.

8.DBS Bank's India Unit Merged with Wholly Owned Arm
*The RBl approved the merger of Singapore-based DBS Bank's Indian unit with its wholly owned local subsidiary, DBS Bank India. The merger will be effective from March 1 that will allow the foreign lender to be treated as a local bank, removing certain restrictions.


9.India's Q3 GDP growth falls to 6.6%
*India's GDP growth moderated to 6.6% in the Oct-Dec quarter of 2018-19, the lowest in five quarters, from 7% in the previous quarter. India is still the fastest-growing major economy. GDP growth forecast was revised for the current fiscal from 7.2 to 7%.

10.Cabinet approves Agra & Kanpur Metro Rail Projects
*The Union Cabinet approved the Agra & Kanpur Metro Rail Project. Both the projects will have 2 corridors. Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation will be reconstituted as Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) for implementation of these 2 projects.


11.PM launched projects in Tamil Nadu

12.MoU between India and USA approved
*The Cabinet approved the MoU between india and the USA to access tipline reports on Missing and Exploited Children.
*The MoU was signed between the National Crime Record Bureau, India and the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, NCMEC, USA.
*it will provide access to more than one lakh tipline reports available with NCMEC, USA and enable law enforcement agencies in India.

13. 1 March: Zero Discrimination Day

*Zero Discrimination Day is observed on March 1 and it aims to address the issue of discrimination faced by people across the world.
*The theme for Zero Discrimination Day 2019 is Act to change laws that Discriminate.
*It was launched by UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibé on February 27, 2014, with a major event in Beijing.

14.Aadhaar Amendment Bill cleared 
*The Cabinet approved the promulgation of an ordinance to allow voluntary use of Aadhaar as identity proof for opening bank account on 28 February 2019.
*It was necessitated as the Aadhaar Amendment bill, passed by the Lok Sabha on January 4, 2019.
*It will give effect to changes in the Aadhaar Act such as giving a child an option to exit from the biometric ID programme after 18 years of age.


15.Foundation stone laid for NIUM 

*AYUSH Minister Shripad Yesso Naik laid the foundation stone of National Institute of Unani Medicine, NIUM at Ghaziabad on March 1,2019,
*Once established, the 200-bedded hospital will be one of the largest institutesof Unani Medicine in North India,
*The institute is an extension of the existing NIUM at Bengaluru and will developed on a 10-acre area, costing about 300 crore rupees.

16.India and Brunei signed agreement
*India and the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam signed an Agreement in New Delhi on 28 February 2019.
*It was signed for the Exchange of Information and Assistance in Collection with respect to Taxes (TIEA)
*The agreement is based on international standards of tax transparency and exchange of information.


17.RBI and Bank of Japan signed BSA 

*RBl and Bank of Japan signed a Bilateral Swap Arrangement (BSA) on 28 February 2019.
*The BSA provides for India to access 75 billion US dollars whereas the earlier BSA had provided for 50 billion dollars.
*The BSA was approved by the Union Cabinet in January 2019

18. 4-lane bridge approved on Brahmaputra

*The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved construction of 4-lane bridge on South Bank on NH-127 B in the State of Assam/Meghalaya. The total length of the bridge wil 19.282 km.
*The bridge will be built under the scheme of North-East Road Network Connectivity Project Phase-03
*Its construction over river Brahmaputra will save huge travel distance from 205.3 km to only 19.282 km.


19.Scheme for knitwear sector launched

*Textile Minister, Smriti lrani launched a scheme for development of Knitting and Knitwear Sector under PowerTex India in New Delhi on 28 February 2019.
*Yarn bank scheme, solar energy scheme, group work shed scheme, and creation of new service centers are few of its Components.
*Combined SFC of Power Tex India Scheme and Knitwear Scheme were approved with an outlay of Rs. 487.07 crores. 


20. 25th Prime Minister's Trop presented 
*25th Prime Minister's Trophy for Excellence in Performance of Integrated Steel Plants for 2016-17 was presented in New Delhi on 1st March 2019.
*The objective of the award is to give recognition to outstanding performance in integrated steel plant sector of the national economy.
*The award is presented in 4 categories, of which the best performance gets Rs.2 crore as prize money.

21.DDRS organised by DEPwD

*A National Conference on Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS) was organized on 1 March 2019.
*it was organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.
*lts objective was to sensitize the stakeholders of the scheme.
